Matt and I really enjoyed the time we spent out in LA. We talked about how we could see ourselves living there. The only complaint I have is the weather/climate. I know, how could I complain about warm weather and sunny skies? My issue is that it is like that all the time. Day in and day out. No variability.
One of the things I love the most about where I live is the change. Changing seasons, changing weather, varying temps. Its great. I love seeing the sun in the summer, feeling the heat and seeing the warmth. I love the snow, sleet, and slush in the winter. I love the cold dry air, and how everything turns shades of gray and white. I love the spring, as warmer air breezes through the days, and the plants and animals begin to wake up again. But most of all, I love autumn (despite the fact that it is when my allergies become almost unbearable). I love the smell of the earth after a good rain, I love the crisp cool air blowing in, I love the smell of burning wood and chimney smoke, the feel and sound of leaves and bark crunching under my feet, and having to layer my clothes. I love the light. I love the fall holidays. I love football and popcorn and knitting and a sweater paired with skinny jeans and boots.
I love fall.
So there you have it. The reason why I love where I live, and why I would never live further south than I do now.
I’m am participating in Tracey’s Picture Fall for the month of October. I hope to walk away with 31 images that represent what fall means to me. With the help of her daily prompts and musings, it shouldn’t be too difficult.
