{Miss Match Week 20} Westfield, New Jersey Fine Art Photographer

This week I was paired up with Mandy Bryant of The Light Fantastic.  If you have never heard of Mandy, or if you are unfamiliar with her work, I recommend checking our her flickr stream and her Etsy shop.  She’s amazing, and her “Nostalgic vintage inspired photography” doesn’t disappoint.  She also has a blog, which is also worth taking a peek at!

Sometimes you just meet eye to eye on these collaborations, and this was one of those weeks.  Our theme was Translucent, and our ideas revolved around bubbles, bubble wrap, and lingerie.  I’m glad we went this route.  This isn’t really like anything that I typically do, and that’s what this project is all about, right?

Don’t forget that The Miss Match Project has it’s own blog where you can see the weekly collaborations by some amazing women photographers!

P.S. Special thanks to my Grandmother.  I’m so glad you went for the pink tile :)

  • O.k. I have ask. How do you get involved in Miss Match? I’ve visited the blog and seen some incredible talent I wouldn’t mind working with from time. But I didn’t find any information about the project.

  • Its a collaboration run by Female Photographers of Etsy (fPOE) – do you have a shop? I got involved in the project by getting involved with fpoe through my etsy shop :)

  • I don’t have a shop yet. I just decided this year I was going to take photography seriously after discovering through my day job (not by choice mind you) that I was actually pretty good at it. So it’s been an incredibly steep learning curve. I’m just now starting to feel comfortable enough behind the camera that I would actually seek out clients.

I intend to have an etsy shop. But before I take on anything else, I have to get through the next two weeks. I’ve actually for 4 sessions scheduled, but I had to push them back to September.

Then I’ll be able to think shop:)

  • Your photograph is AMAZING! Very different from your usual, and it came out gorgeous. I can’t stop staring at it :)

  • It’s great that you want to open one! I think you will do well :) Just make sure you have a nice comprehensive body of work to give your customers a feeling of completeness :) xo

  • Thanks, Becca!

    There’s a funny story behind it. I’ll tell it… one day 😀
